I was pulling out of my parking spot today and had the eerie feeling that I was being watched. My eyes flicked down to an unusual shape on my car’s hood, and there was this grasshopper staring up at me through the windshield. He looked like he hardly had a care in the world.
Admiring his bravery/foolishness, I did the most logical thing I could think of; I drove oh-so-slowly around the parking garage to another spot where the light was much better, jumped out of the car and started snapping away.
The grasshopper took it all in stride for a while, but eventually got bored and flew away.

Great photo!!! I’m glad you got a leg up on this guy. I guess you had to hop out of your car to catch this little guy!
I saw that picture and thought, “How in the HECK did he get THAT one?”
Now I know! I think he needs to be the mascot of some Grasshopper book…or story. Good JOB!
Definitely one of my favorites! Jiminy would be so proud….
